These luxury lodges make the most of their spectacular locations and if you are feeling adventurous there a number of experiences on offer to explore further afield, though we understand if you are tempted to just stay put and enjoy being spoiled.

Kauri Cliffs - Northland

Set on 6,000 acres Kauri Cliffs affords spectacular 180-degree views of the Pacific Ocean, Cape Brett and the Cavalli Islands.  The main lodge overlooks the golf course which was designed and built by David Harman of Golf Course Consultants, Orlando, Florida.  There are a range of activities available onsite including surf cast fishing, bird watching, nature walks and the very unique possum hunting experience.  After your days adventure, rejuvenate with a spa treatment or relax in your suite by the open fire.

Wharekauhau Lodge - Palliser Bay, Wairarapa

Each room in the main lodge has a different feel, from large open lounges to smaller and more intimate areas with sumptuous furnishings and remarkable views of Palliser Bay, you'll be hard pressed to leave.  If you do venture out, the 5,500 acres of private land including forests, lakes, rivers, and a wild and rugged coast, provide endless choice when it comes to activities and adventure.  Dining at Wharekauhau is a delight with personalised menu's to suit their guests.  

Otahuna Lodge - Christchurch

Otahuna Lodge is an elegant Victorian mansion offering luxury suites, glorious gardens and sophisticated cuisine, located a short 20 minute drive from Christchurch.  Dinner is a five-course chef’s degustation menu which changes daily, making use of the fresh produce sourced from the property's own garden and orchard.  Executive Chef Jimmy McIntyre offers cooking classes, so you can take a little bit of Otahuna home with you. The grounds encompass intimate walks which wind through heavily wooded areas and lovely lawns overlooking the lake. As well there are a range of guest facilities and activities including swimming, tennis, croquet and petanque.  Nearby you can also enjoy fly fishing, horse riding, hiking and cycling.
